Bryce Roberts is a North Carolina native with years of experience in China. He spent 6 years living and working there in the fields of education, marketing, and general management. His knowledge of Chinese language and culture, as well as time spent in the trenches with entrepreneurs and startups, are an asset to Savvy’s China Practice.
Bryce served as General Manager for Mister Softee China’s Shanghai Branch. There he learned how to successfully launch an American brand in a cosmopolitan Chinese city. He had previously worked as Marketing and Quality Control Manager for an American delivery company in Shanghai.
While in China, he also worked in education as a business English consultant helping companies with their English language marketing and communications. In addition, he worked as a freelance writer for blogs, newspapers, and magazines focusing on business trends and contemporary culture.
In the U.S., Bryce worked as Team Leader for the Mandarin Chinese Language portion of Research Triangle Institute's World Trade Center Health Registry in New York City. His team worked in Chinatown to investigate the physical and mental health effects of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Bryce graduated with honors from Appalachian State University in 2003 with a Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, focusing on Asian Studies. He volunteered at the North Carolina China Center’s Suzhou office, and contributed to educational, cultural, and business ties between his home state and China. Fluent in Mandarin Chinese, he enjoys listening to classical pingtan opera from Suzhou, the hometown of his wife.
